Freshman guard Damon Lynn averaged 15.5ppg while shooting 40% from behind the arc last week for the Highlanders.
In a 64-48 men's basketball loss at Butler in a contest played in front of 6,504 fans in historic Hinkle Fieldhouse, plus a national cable TV audience on FOX Sports 2, Lynn was the only Highlander to reach double-figures with 11 points.
On Monday in a 75-64 road loss at Hofstra, NJIT had just one double-figure scorer, Lynn, the star freshman guard, who scored 20 points and hit a new season-high 6 baskets from long distance (he previously had three games with five 3-pointers).
In addition to being Lynn's personal best from downtown, it tied the program Division I individual record for threes against a DI opponent.
