New Jersey Institute of Technology Athletics

Donovan Holtz, a resident of Montclair, NJ, is an undergraduate student majoring in mechanical engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology. An accomplished fencer, he is helping coach the NJIT men and women in his weapon, the epee.

Previously, he attended Rutgers University, where he was a successful intercollegiate fencer, competing in the epee. In one and a half years at Rutgers, he won the regional championship, held at Drew, in 2002 and then placed seventh at the NCAA Championships that same year, also at Drew.

In 2001, he placed first out of 66 competitors in competition hosted by Temple and he was fifth out of 36th fencers in the Penn State Open.

He also won the 2002 national team championship in the epee and the junior team championship in the epee.
