Kristina Baugh, a former player in the Big East Conference at Providence College, joined the NJIT women’s basketball coaching staff in the summer of 2010 following a three-year stint as an assistant coach at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina.
Baugh, a four-year player at Providence, was team captain for the Friars as a senior in 2006-07. She appeared in over 100 career games, starting 62 times.
Prior to college, she starred scholastically at Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, where she was a two-year basketball captain.
Following her graduation from PC with a degree in history, the Boston native moved directly into coaching as an assistant at Winston-Salem State, which, like NJIT, is a recent addition to the NCAA Division I ranks.
On the staff with the Lady Rams, she performed multiple duties, including on-court coaching and off-campus recruiting, helping the program land North Carolina East-West All-Star Game participants in 2008 and 2010. In addition, she helped coach Vontisha Woods, who was an all-Division I Independent honoree in 2010.
She coordinated film exchange for Winston-Salem State and was also the staff liaison with the academic coordinator and the equipment manager.
Along with her coaching duties, Baugh was an adjunct professor for Human Performance and Sport Sciences at Winston-Salem State.
She resides in Jersey City, NJ.
