Prior to NJIT: Attended Seward C.C.C in Liberal, Kansas (2008-09) and Laredo Community College (2007-08) in Laredo, Texas. At Seward, Abreu played at first singles for Coach Darin Workman finishing the season with a 6-10 record. As a freshman at Laredo, Abreu was a member of the
NJCAA National Championship team. He also played at No. 3 doubles and finished in the semifinals at the NJCAA National Tournament. High School: Abreu attended C.E.T.E.B and was coached by Carlos Matos. In 2006, he received a No. 84 ranking in the advanced level of competition in Brazil and in his junior season, he received a No. 9 ranking in 2004 and tabbed No. 15 in the Brazil junior rankings in 2005.
