New Jersey Institute of Technology Athletics

John York is entering his fourth season as NJIT's Bowling Coach, bringing over 15 years of coaching experience to the program.  He will continue to build the program with a very young and inexperienced group of bowlers, only one of which has 2 years’ collegiate experience.
 
A USBC Silver Certified Coach, York has also provided instruction and consultation to a number of the top local professional and amateur bowlers in the region, which has led to his being named as one of the Top 100 Coaches in the nation by Bowler’s Journal International Magazine in both 2010 and 2012.
 
As a competitor, York has compiled an impressive bowling resume, amassing 18 county and 5 state titles, as well as 3 county high average awards.  In 2001, York was elected to the Monmouth County Bowling Hall of Fame, and in 2011, York was elected to the New Jersey State Hall of Fame
 
A graduate of Cedar Ridge High School and the Cittone Institute of Technology, York resides in Jackson, New Jersey with his wife Mary Ann and 3 children, Nicole, Tyler and Justin.
