NEWARK, NJ – Sophomore Wiktor Nowak was named the EIVA Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.

Nowak helped lead NJIT to a 1–0 week, highlighted by a 3–1 victory over No. 19 Princeton, extending the Highlanders' win streak to six matches.

The 6-foot-10 opposite delivered a career-best 29 kills while hitting .339 on the week. He also anchored the defense with six total blocks and added four digs in the win over the Tigers.

NJIT returns to action next weekend with a pair of EIVA road matches at Harvard, beginning Friday at 7 p.m. and concluding Saturday at 5 p.m.  Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
