Alejandra Zuniga has been named America East Conference Player of the Week the league office announced on Monday.
In a 2-0 week for the Highlanders, Zuniga averaged 18.0ppg, 7.0ast, 5.0rpg.
The 5-foot-6 guard from Madrid, Spain, combined for 24 points, seven assists and four rebounds in NJIT's season opening victory at Sacred Heart on November 3. The seven assists was a new personal-high for Zuniga.
Zuniga followed with a 12-point, seven assists and six rebound performance in the Highlanders 82-78 road victory at Fordham on November 7. Zuniga shot 5-of-6 from the free throw line, knocking down five free throws in the final 1:20.
NJIT has started the 2025 season 2-0 for the first time since the 2023-24 season with a pair of road victories.
Zuniga and the Highlanders will host the home opener against Wagner on November 11 at 6pm.
