NEWARK, N.J. - Adam Mekrami and Borys Endle each broke school records, but the NJIT swimming and diving team (1-3) fell to Marist (4-0), 156.5-137.5, on Friday at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center (WEC).

Mekrami set the program record in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a winning time of 9:30.68. His time ranks second in the America East, just 0.06 seconds behind the leader.

Endle broke the program record in the 200-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 2:00.67 to win the event. His time is the fastest in the America East.

Ilias El Fallaki won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:31.67, which ranks first in the America East. He finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.06, which is the fastest in the conference.

Sam Deemer posted a 200-yard backstroke time of 1:48.68, the fastest in the America East.
Aidan Blackmon won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.82, edging Deemer by 0.01 seconds. Blackmon and Deemer now rank third and fourth, respectively, in the conference in the 100-yard backstroke.

Aiden Ban swept the diving events, winning the 1-meter dive with a score of 262.24 and the 3-meter dive with a score of 296.25.

After a week off, NJIT will travel to Boston to compete in the BU Terrier Invitational on Nov. 22-24.
