CLEVELAND, OHIO --- The NJIT men's swimming and diving team completed its first-ever opening day at the CSCAA National Invitational Thursday evening.
NJIT placed swimmers in five events on the first day of the meet, being held this year at Cleveland State University: the 50 Fly, 50 Breast, 50 Back, 50 Free, and 200 Free Relay. The Highlanders' best performance of the day came as a group in the 200 Free Relay, as

Mattheau Bonner,
Nicholas Lyons, and
Tyler Pollock swam a 1:24.70 to finish 16th and earn the team's first ten points of the meet.
Lyons missed scoring in the 50 Breast by one spot and .09 seconds, placing 21st in the event with a time of 26.01.
