CHARLOTTE, NC--NJIT freshman Kai Legband has been named the CCSA Swimmer of the Week and teammate Avery Bechtel has been selected CCSA Diver of the Week after the Highlanders captured the 2018 ECAC Winter Championship title this past weekend.

Legband helped the Highlanders capture the ECAC Winter Championships title with five race victories.

Standing a 6-foot-1, Legband finished with a time of 45.05 in the 100 yard freestyle for the win. He also helped take the 400 yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:05.98, which was more than two seconds faster than the second-place team (3:08.26).

Legband grabbed a 20.65 for the 50 Yard Freestyle title and was a part of the first-place 200 yard freestyle relay team, where he posted an anchor time of 1:24.59. He finished the competition with another top time, in the 800 yard freestyle with a time of 6:52.82.
 

Bechtel won the 3-meter dive with a score of 182.60 at the ECAC Winter Championships and posted a 218.50 score to win the 1-meter dive competition.
