CHARLOTTE, NC – Swimmer
Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos was named Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performance in the Highlanders 135-69 victory over Monmouth on Saturday.
The Highlanders as a team tallied eight wins in 11 events, in which Montarroyos earned three of them.
In the three races that the junior swam in, the 500 free, 200 free and 200 free relay, he placed first.
In the 500 free Montarroyos finished in 4:52.10, and swam the 200 in 1:45.23.
Montarroyos was also part of the 200 free relay that took first place with teammates
Michael Sungurov,
Tyler Pollock and
Maxim Tillmann. Montarroyos posted the fastest split out of all swimmers in the relay, with a time of 21.56.
