PRINCETON, NJ - Princeton, ranked 68th in the January 8 the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national Division I poll, topped NJIT, 7-0, in the spring 2008 opener for the Highlanders.

The closest competition of the day came at the third singles. Senior Highlander Fatima Kasem battled out a 4-6, 6-0, (5-10) decision, coming up short to Tiger Sarah Huah.

Princeton sophomore Melissa Saiontz, ranked number 36 in the national preseason ITA singles rankings, defeated NJIT's Iulia Doci, 6-2, 6-3.

Doci last played in the Wilson/ITA East Regional in late October, where she reached the round of 64.

The Highlanders return to action on Friday, when they travel to West Point, NY to take on Army. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm.
