The New Jersey Institute of Technology women's tennis team claimed their fifteenth win this weekend defeating Concordia, 6-1 at Tenafly Racquet Club.
The Highlanders have won seven straight matches, improving their record to 15-4.
The Highlanders won the doubles points sweeping all three matches. Iulia Doci and Fatima Kasem were first off the court, dropping Lena Hladikora Celise Sesanker, 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Eva Salierno and Rebeca Solorazano clinched the point for NJIT with a tough win 9-8, 7-5 over Ananda Ferrari and Amy Boyd at No. 2 doubles. Chiori Koike and Grace Bogdan won their match defeating Joanna Angellili and Kyoko Yamakawa, 8-2, at No. 3 singles.
Iulia Doci was the first one off the court in singles action, defeating Lena Hladikora, 6-0, 6-0 for her fifteenth win of the season. Fatima Kasem put the Highlanders up 4-0 with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Ananda Ferrari. Eva Salierno won her twelfth match, topping Celise Sesanker 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Kyoko Yamakawa put Concorida on the board with a win over Grace Bogdan at No. 6 singles.
The Highlanders travel to Pennsylvania this weekend to take on Bloomsburg (PA) and Queens (NY) for a 9:30am start.
