The New Jersey Institute of Technology's women's tennis team claimed its fifth consecutive win, 5-2 Sunday afternoon edging Western New Mexico at the Tennis Center in Arizona.
The Highlanders won three of the four singles matches and two of the three doubles contests.
Iulia Doci won for NJIT at first singles defeating Tereza Pilatova, 6-2, 6-0 but ended up losing a close 8-9 in first doubles with teammate Chiori Koike.
Rebeca Solorzano won fifth singles against Nadia Nunes, 6-2, 6-4 and teamed up with Grace Bogdan in third doubles winning by default.
Deepti Sanjai and Eva Salierno defeated Karina Soares and Angel Vos in second doubles, 8-3.
The Highlanders improve their record to 13-4.
NJIT will return to action on March 18th when they host St. Peter's at the Fleisher Athletic Center at 7pm.
