The New Jersey Institute of Technology women's tennis team defeated visiting West Chester University of Pennsylvania, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon at Branch Brook Park.
NJIT won all the singles matches and two of the three doubles matches. Using the 7-point team match scoring system, the team that wins the majority of the doubles competition gets one point. Iulia Doci had an unblemished day for the Highlanders, winning first singles, 6-0, 6-0 and teaming with Chiori Koike to win first doubles, 8-0.
Koike, also unblemished, captured her match at second singles, 6-0, 6-0, boosting her personal singles mark to 5-0 on the season.
Eva Salierno and Deepti Sanjai combined to capture second doubles for the Highlanders, 8-1, while Salierno won third singles, 8-4, and Sanjai was an 8-0 winner at fourth singles.
NJIT, 3-2 on the season, will visit John Jay on Friday, September 16 at 4 pm.
