The New Jersey Institute of Technology women's tennis team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at Holy Family, 9-0, Tuesday afternoon.
The win lifts NJIT to 2-0 in CACC play, while evening the Highlanders' overall record at 2-2. Holy Family is 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the CACC.
NJIT dominated singles play, winning all but two sets in the six singles matches. Iulia Doci and Eva Salierno, at first and second singles, each won their matches, 8-1, for NJIT. Number three Chiori Koike remained unbeaten in singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win on Tuesday.
Deepti Sanjai won the fourth singles match easily (6-1, 6-1), while Denise Solorzano and Grace Bogdan took their matches for the Highlanders in three sets each.
The closest of the three doubles matches was at number one, where Doci and Salerno prevailed, 8-6, over Holy Family's tandem of Shakir Willett and Quena Borres.
NJIT will visit John Jay for a non-conference match on Friday afternoon, before heading to Georgian Court for another conference match on Saturday.
