Lafayette, an NCAA Division I program, nipped the New Jersey Institute of Technology women's tennis team, 4-3, on Saturday at Lafayette.
The match was the season opener for Lafayette, while NJIT is now 1-2.
NJIT's Iulia Doci captured the first singles match, defeating Lafayette's Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung, 6-1 and 6-2. Other singles winners for NJIT were Chiori Koike (6-4, 4-6 and 6-4) at third singles and Deepti Sanjai, who captured her fourth singles match by a score of 6-3, 7-5.
Lafayette won the doubles matches. As well as second, fifth and sixth singles.
