NEW HAVEN, CT - New Jersey Institute of Technology freshman Iulia Doci is the latest women's tennis Player of the Week in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, the CACC announced today.

The freshman from Barcelona , Spain , helped NJIT claim its unbeaten CACC regular season championship, closing out the schedule with a dominant performance.

In last week's only match, a 7-0 win over Goldey-Beacom on October 4, Doci was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in first singles and she also teamed with Chiori Koike for an 8-0 win in first doubles.

Doci, who was 7-0 at first singles in team match competition, was also a semifinalist in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II East Regional "A" singles championships in late September.

She adds the Rookie of the Week award for October 10 to an earlier CACC Player of the Week award, which she won on September 26. Other Highlanders to win CACC women's tennis Player of the Week honors this season were Chiori Koike (September 19) and Deepti Sanjai (October 3).

NJIT finished the fall season with an overall record of 7-2, including the unblemished 6-0 in the CACC.
