The New Jersey Institute of Technology men's tennis team opened its 2005-06 campaign at NCAA Division I Lafayette on Saturday and the home standing Leopards swept to victory, 7-0.
The match was also the season opener for Lafayette, which came in having won exactly 500 intercollegiate matches in a rich program history.
In the 2005 opener, NJIT's highest two-set individual point total came from freshman Roger Wang who lost in fifth singles to Lafayette's Pete Titus, 1-6 and 4-6.
Also putting up a 4-6 set score for NJIT was Steve Arlt, who lost the second singles match to the Leopards' Brett Warren, 4-6 and 0-6.
Wang also had a hand in the Highlanders best doubles showing, as he and Damien Wentzel fell, 4-8, to Lafayette's Brett Kraft and Lee Kojanis.
