The NJIT cross country teams opened up its 2010 season at the Fifth Annual Hofstra Invitational Saturday afternoon at Bethpage State Park.

The format of the race had a different look, as the meet was a 2x6000 relay meet. Each school had several two-runner relay teams with each runner completing 6K in alternating 3K legs.

Freshman Breanne Hollenbach and Ewelina Marut placed first overall with a time of 48:20.00, two-minutes ahead of Hofstra’s top relay team.
