Senior Matt Melody recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts against UMBC Wednesday afternoon, which were also a single-game high for NJIT at the Division I level (2009 is NJIT’s third season of Division I competition).

Melody’s previous single-game strikeout high was nine against Saint Peter’s in 2008.
