Wilson played a starring role in the first week of the season for NJIT -- propelling the 3-0 Highlanders to their fastest start since 1996-97, when they competed at the Division-III level, and to becoming the first NCAA program in the nation to reach three wins against Division-I opponents this season. 

The Fort Lauderdale native led the NJIT is scoring in two of the three games -- dropping 21 points on Nov. 9 in a 74-57 road win at Binghamton University and 20 points in a 63-60 home victory over Brown University on Nov. 11. More importantly, his accomplishments were highlighted by two game-winning shots: converting a four-point play with 1:32 left in overtime on Nov. 6 and hitting a driving layup with 26 seconds left on Nov. 11.

What makes the award even more impressive is that Wilson missed most of the preseason after knee surgery and was not even certain to dress the week. He was "eased" back coming off the bench in all three affairs.

Wilson earned ASUN Player of the Week honors.
