NJIT sophomore John Porteous captured the men's 400 meter title and earned Male Outstanding Performance of Championships at the 2013 Great West Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships Sunday at the conference meet held at the University of Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse.

Porteous, the men's 400 meter champion, clocked in with a time of 48.95 picking up 10 points for the Highlanders. He also placed second in the 60 meter hurdles, fourth in the men's 200 meter dash and fifth in the men's long jump.
