Senior guard Jheryl Wilson led the Highlanders to two conference wins last week over North Dakota and South Dakota at the Fleisher Athletic Center.

On Saturday, in the Highlanders 76-68 victory over Great West Conference defending champion South Dakota, the 6-foot-3 guard had a record setting day.  He scored 28 points and shot 12-for-15 from the floor en route to the highest scoring total for an NJIT player since the program began Division I competition in 2006-07.

Wilson’s 12 field goals were also a school Division I record, surpassing the old mark of 10, which had been done four times, including once by Wilson.

In the teams 65-49 victory over North Dakota on Thursday, Wilson contributed eight points and five rebounds.

Wilson was also named Great West Conference Player of the Week.
