Travis Johnson announced the captains for the 2018 men's lacrosse season this week.
Senior
Nick Marzullo, juniors
Ryan Darrow and
Aaron Forster and sophomore
John Tachon will take the reigns as captains for the spring.
"We are excited to announce the captains for this coming season", Johnson said, "Not only are these four the hardest working guys on the team, but they also represent the epitome of a student-athlete.
Marzullo, who has held the captain title since his sophomore year, returns as one of the three remaining players from the 2015 inaugural NJIT men's lacrosse team.
Marzullo earned nine starts for the Highlanders in 2017, with 128 total saves and a .542 save percentage. In the final game of the season last year against UMass
Lowell Marzullo broke the NJIT record, his own record, for saves in a game posting 21 in the Highlanders loss.
Darrow, Forster and Tachon are all first-time captains.
Darrow ranked third on the team in points (20) and goals (13) in his sophomore season, appearing in all 15 games for the Highlanders.
Forster broke eight records in 2017, including career goals (49), goals in a season (34), goals in a game (5), career assists (22), assists in a game (5), career points (71), points in a season (43) and points in a game (9, 4g, 5a).
Tachon made an impact as a freshman in 2017, starting all 15 games and breaking the NJIT single season record for ground balls with 71 and caused turnovers with 18.
NJIT men's lacrosse will start their fourth season in the spring.
