Raymond E. Blum was a world class athlete while at NCE in 1950
He competed as a member of the USA Olympic team as a speed skater in the 1948 Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland
He placed 20th (out of 45) in the Men’s 1,500 Meters
He placed 17th (out of 40) in the Men’s 5,000 Meters
He was inducted into the American National Speed Skating Museum and Hall of Fame on May 17, 1969
