Herb M. Iris, a great visionary and a major benefactor and supporter of NJIT athletics, was a distinguished alumnus of NCE, who remained close to his alma mater throughout his life.
Mr. Iris had the longest tenure as chair of the Highlander Athletic Advisory Board and served as national chair of the Highlander Athletics Campaign
For his commitment to Highlander Athletics the Herb Iris Award is presented to the person who, like Herb, has demonstrated exemplary leadership and support the the advancement of Highlander Athletics
