Sadie Mele was honored as the 2010 Defensive Player of the Year in the Great West Conference East Division.

Mele, a senior goalkeeper for the Highlanders, was a repeat honoree as Defensive Player of the Year in the GWC East Division.

Mele, who has played every minute of every game in her stellar four-year career, posted a 2.21 goals against average this season, allowing 40 goals in 18 games for the Highlanders, who were 4-13-1 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Her goals against average in conference action was 1.80. She made 90 saves overall and 18 in conference action.
