Sophomore middle distance runner Vanessa Escalera finished in the top 10 of the women’s 800 meter run this past weeked at the 15th Annual Monmouth Season Opener setting a new NJIT school-record with a time of 2:25.05.

Escalera was also part of the record breaking women’s sprint medley relay which consisted of Lesley Hendricks, Megan Higgins and Nicole Kerrison. The team finished eighth with a time of 4:38.93.
