NEW ORLEANS – The NJIT men's and women's cross country teams were named to the NCAA Division I All-Academic team list for the 2017 season.

To be named to the list both teams needed to post at least a cumulative team GPA of 3.0.

The men's cross country team recorded a 3.13 GPA while the women's team had a 3.62 GPA.

Head Coach Al Alonso commented: "Getting this national recognition at the completion of another great season is like the icing on the cake.  Make that a double dessert (men and women).  Competing at the highest level of collegiate athletics (NCAA D1) while getting a demanding degree from a nationally ranked university is why our student-athletes are in high demand upon graduation and very successful in their chosen fields."
