PALISADES PARK, NJ – The NJIT men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the FDU Knight Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Palisades Park Sportsplex.
NJIT sophomore Ruben Santos won the men's 100 and 200 meter dash Saturday setting a new NJIT school-record in the 200 meter dash. Highlander Xavier Lee placed second in the men's high jump and triple jump.
Josh Dolisca, NJIT's top weight thrower, set a new personal mark in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 46.66m, good for second, breaking his old mark of 44.01m. The junior also placed second in the men's shot put, 13.56m.
Freshmen Brian Mendez and Adam Morgan broke freshmen records in the 1500 meter and 800 meter race.
On the women's side, Vanessa Escalera placed second in the steeplechase, Nicole Kerrison added a third place finish in the women's 400 meter hurdles and Lauren Dupuis took second in the women's shot put.
Both teams will return to action at the CTC Championships Saturday.
