Women's Swimming Swims Past SUNY Maritime

NEWARK, NJ – The NJIT women’s swimming team recorded five lifetime bests and two season best times Monday evening as the Highlanders defeated SUNY Maritime, 80-49, at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.
The meet began well for sophomore Rachael Abadie as she swam to victory in the 200 freestyle (2:10.75). She was also a member of the 200 free relay team, which recorded a season best (1:52.83).
Four Highlanders added lifetime bests -- Kelsey Johnson (200 free; 2:15.18), Lauren Dupris (50 free; 42.31), Michelle Velez (200 IM; 2:49.18/100 breast; 1:29.06) and # Liliette Graca# (100 back; 1:28.70).

The Highlanders will travel to Manhattan on Friday at 6:30pm before heading to the Metropolitan Swimming Championships hosted by Rutgers (2.19-2.21).
