The Highlanders will end its three-game homestead and host Harvard on Tuesday at 12pm ‘Education Day’ in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center before opening up the inaugural season in the Great West Conference at Texas-Pan American (Jan. 14) and Houston Baptist (Jan. 16).

NJIT (5-9), is led by junior Jessica Gerald with (205 points, 14.6ppg) and is shooting (87 percent, 74-85) from the free throw line.  Senior Taiwo Oyelola has come off the bench for the Highlanders in the last two contests and is averaging 9.7ppg and 6.4rpg.

 

Harvard (8-4 overall, 1-4 on the road) rank first in the Ivy League in scoring with 73.6 points per game.  The Crimson have won the last five out of six contests with its only loss coming on December 29 at Marist (85-70).

 

Harvard has four players who average 10.0ppg or more.  Junior Emma Markley leads the team with 16.0ppg, followed by Brogan Berry (14.3ppg), freshman Victoria Lippert (12.6ppg) and junior guard Christine Matera with (10.4ppg).  Markey, a 6-foot-2 forward, has 25 blocks this season for an average of (2.1 blocks per game), ranking her first in the Ivy League.
