Day Three Results - Women
MONTCLAIR, NJ – NJIT advanced three women's tennis players to the Singles Consolation Quarterfinals of the NJIT Tennis Invitational Sunday afternoon at Brookdale Park.
The Division I schools participating were: NJIT; Hofstra; Marist; Manhattan; Saint Peter’s. Queens (NY) represented Division II and Stevens represented Division III in the tournament.
Nina Mayevska, a junior from Brooklyn, NY, defeated Saint Peter’s Krysten Chen 9-8 (4) in the Flight “A” consolation quarterfinals advancing to the semifinals but lost to Manhattan’s Diana Lorentz, 8-4.
Dasa Stanimirovic, a senior from Serbia, swept Saint Peter’s Kristen Realista, 8-0 before falling to Queens Maria Mendes, 9-8 (6) in the semifinals.
Senior Isha Toor lost 8-5 to Queens Erika Goldsmith. Goldsmith captured the Flight “B” singles championship.
The Highlanders will return to action on Friday, September 25 at the Eastern Collegiate hosted by Army.
