The New Jersey Institute of Technology women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win over visiting East Stroudsburg Saturday night at the Tenafly Racquet Club.
The Highlanders, now 8-3 in 2005-06, dominated the singles competition, taking all six spots and winning four--first, second, third and sixth singles in two sets by a combined 12-1. The closest singles match was at number four, where NJIT's Eva Salierno won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
NJIT won the second and third doubles by identical 8-1 scores and the Highlanders took the first doubles, 8-4.
Iulia Doci was a winner at first singles and first doubles. Fatima Kasem won at second singles and third doubles. Deepti Sanjai and Salierno were winners at third and fourth singles, respectively, and they combined to win third doubles.
Chiori Koike won fifth singles 6-1, 6-1 and joined with Doci to win first doubles. Rebeca Solorzano won sixth singles and Grace Bogdan was Kasem's partner in the 8-1 third doubles victory.
NJIT will host Seton Hall on Saturday at 7:15 pm at the Tenafly Racquet Club.
